One person was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with second and third-degree burns at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, when a passerby reported a fire that had broken out in the 21500 block of Dover Bridge Road in Caroline County.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal, it took a team of 30 firefighters approximately three hours to get the flames under control inside the two-story home, but not before the blaze caused extensive damage.
In total, the fire caused an estimated $270,000 ($230,000 to the structure, and $40,000 to the contents inside) in damages. The cause and origin of the blaze both remain under investigation.
The condition of the man was not immediately available on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
